It was actually my choice. I had a prolapsed uterus with Tiffer's birth, and the doc said he could tack it back up, but that I couldn't have any more children. Well, my monthlies were so nasty that I told him, if I can't have any more kids, then why go through with all that crap! I basically had to talk him into it, but he finally agreed to do it. I've not regretted it until recently, David and I fantasized for awhile whether we would have liked to have a child together, and we both agreed it would have been nice. But, we're both fixed, so..... (good thing! He's 60 and I'm close to 50, God forbid! A baby at 50! What was I thinking!?!?!?!?) LOL I'll wait for grandkids, now, thank you.

Lol. I took that picture near Christmas of... '05 I think, when Sssargon was still around. I am having A LOT OF TROUBLE loading these pics. One my face is cut out, why is that? not only that I had to delete a lot of other previously posted photos to load these.

Hmnn, A little like me, except she was light haired and fair complected, with blue eyes instead of brown. All of the women from Mama's side have had the same shape face and mouth for several generations, and while Liz looks nothing like me, and Jade nothing like either of us, we all have the same facial expressions and mannerisms so that people always know we're related. Jades teacher (who I'd never met before) knew who I was before I told her which students fund raising junk I was there to pick up!
Anyhow, Aunt Sue was my favorite aunt, so it's no insult. I guess it's OK to say that now that none of that generation is left.:(

Lol... The first thing I noticed in that picture was the can of Mountain Dew on the counter. I live on Diet Dew... I prefer regular but when your husband is diabetic, you learn to live without sweets.

I have been trying to cut down. I'm a vegan and I have ulcers and Crohn's Disease. Too much soda messes up my system.

Plus it's fun to tempt my ex with it. He stopped drinking pop to lose weight for the Marines. He is a U.S. Marine now and he drinks alcohol like it's going out of style tomorrow, but he still rarely touches soda. Ha!

I can't drink tap water so I have to find other things. And I avoid keeping milk in the house because it does weird things to my husband's blood sugar. I still make sure that we get all our vitamins and minerals. I've actually fainted before because of low iron levels and I don't want to repeat the experience. But I love my fresh green veggies so it's all good. I'm munching snow peas and drinking MD:Game Fuel at the moment lol.

I grew up without veggies so they have been something I'm working on. I have an addiction to ramen noodles and this super-easy mock tuna I make. Yum!

Fruits and veggies were always readily available to me but not to my husband so he doesn't consider them necessities and I do.

He could live on ramen and pop if he weren't diabetic. I've had to make him start taking his health seriously. I can't eat fish because I'm allergic but I do love shrimp and crab. He hates shrimp and all fish except tuna so I'm always making tuna helper. I probably shouldn't because I've set the kitchen on fire three times now in two months but... whatever.

We should continue this in PM's lol. So we can stop hijacking this thread.

That was taken during a study in my area. The young women behind me, for twenty years have had a black bear den not fifty feet from their home, and have lived with bear families for a few generations.

We did that study ( it was a twenty year study now over) in the early spring.Bears give birth while still in hibernation, isn't Mother Nature smart?

The mothers had radio collars on, to keep trak of the dens, and the area each bear had. The cubs were taken while the mother was still groggy, most had not passed their "plug" that keeps them from fouling the den while hibernating. Mom gets a sedative with a jab stick, then the cubs are registered, tagged, and weighed. Mom gets a going over, her teeth checked, and a bit of blood drawn, for numerous reasons. One being they have a natural immunity to Limes disease.

When the cubs are returned to the den, they get a few dabs of Vics VaporRub, and mom gets some on her nose, by the time the scent wears off, they have climbed all over mom, nursed and the smell of human is gone.

I have to get more of those scanned, I really enjoyed my part in that study.Have done other studies with the conservency, but that was my favorite.

It was hard to give those lil cuties back sometimes, they had no fear of us and would just hang on to us, like we had been there all along.Easy to see how anthropomism could take over at times :)

There are several scenarios, that could explain the chip in that cat.

Mt Lions will wander far and wide in search of food, in extream heat they will come down lower than they usally will in search of food and water.

That lion may have been part of a relocation project too.

They cover close to one hundred square miles of their own territory, depending where you are, that cat could have come from another State.

Did the Vet ever find out where that cat was from?

No.....no one knows anything about it...the conservation department has tight lips. He would have to come SEVERAL miles to land here but I am not saying it is not impossible..... Just would be rare ..... there have been several sightings from credable citizens about seeing "prides" of them not just a single or even just two. I am on the North Missouri and Southern Iowa border.
What are the odds because I have no idea.................

Ha, ha! That's what I thought after looking at his picture, too...then I went to the shelter to "meet" him. Apparently he's just really laid back, and had been napping when they took the picture. He seems like a pretty cool cat.

And if he is grumpy, well then he'll just fit right in with everyone else in our home. :D

Aww thanks.. my chili cat is the most BEAUTIFUL calico girl out there.. but she doesnt know it. she acts like a tom cat with a very "clumsy" attitude. She likes to do silly things to make us laugh..
