My 3 month old Bocker (beagle/cocker spaniel mix) started to pee the bed. He seems to sleep through it and doesn't awake at all. Has anyone heard of this. He was getting us up through the night to take him out and just started this the past couple of nights. any suggestions on what may be wrong with him? I appreciate any feedback.

When you wake up is he actually laying in an area that is wet or is he just off to the side? Is he wet?

he is laying off to the side of the wet spot which is usually still warm.

that signifies to me that he is actually awake and peeing, so not loss of bladder control. maybe he feels he doesn't want to wake you up. A doggy door that he could go out if he wanted to without waking you could be the issue.

I'm not a vet, but since it appears that he stands up to pee and then lays somewhere else, its not a bladder problem. Does he get playful during the day and stuff, is there anything else abnormal about it.

Easiest way to see if its a problem with him or not, would be to get one of those 'diaper mats' and place it next to his bed. then try and see if he gets up to go that instead of peeing in the bed.

This is all IMHO since I have no MD in my title

he seems fine otherwise...we were away for a couple of days and he is not having "accidents" during the day. We had a sitter here at the house and he was fine the whole time we were away. I hoping that he is just mad at us and it is not a real problem. Doggy door is out as we have 2 inside cats and would be lost without them. I understand that it is your opinion. I figured the best way for an answer is from other owners. I think the vet sites are a scam! Thanks for the feedback. By the way, the puppy pads were a waste as the cats loved to sleep on them! (LOL)

Ahh, I bet it truly is he is upset with you, cause they generally will do all they can to not pee in their area.

About the doggy door, they do have ones where you can put electronic keys on the animals that are allowed to go out, the door will unlock when they are there, but stay locked when the cats are there :).

Good luck I hope everything turns out alright

Are you certain the wet spot is urine? With a pup that age, teething on the pillow might be a possibility. Another possibility is that the dog is having seizures and is losing bladder function. Or it might just be too cold outside and the pup is taking the easy choice.

You could try crating the dog at night and seeing if the problem stops.

Good News!! Scuffels seems fine now! I think he was just letting me know that he does not appreciate the babysitter. I thought that maybe it was too early to leave him but we took our chances... Two nights in a row he peed but now seems to be back on track with his training. He HATES the cold and am sure winter will be fun but for now we seem to be fine. He has a vet appointment on the 4th for his shots and I will definitely be discussing the issue with him.
