How flexible is this board with off topic threads (not pet related)??

I'm curious as to what the "official" response is. Personally, I enjoy the bits of interaction with others and I find I learn some really interesting things about the people on the board. So I guess if someone were to take a vote, I'd say "yes". I think the Cafe is the right section for it. I pop in and out at all hours of the night whenever I get up to care for Max...it helps me to relax and then get back to bed.

I agree. As long as you don't get carried away with it, of course. There's more to people than their pets :)

I am not aware of any "official" stance on this. However, I agree that the Pet Central Cafe would be an appropriate forum for such discussions and getting to know each other - aside from what pets we have. As long as things are kept GP there shouldn't be a problem. I don't see any reason why we can't get to know each other better outside of our pets. We just want to be sure the board stays mainly about pets and we don't lose site of the fact this site is about petlovers & their pets.

It means keep them clean, polite, and acceptable for younger eyes/ears to read as we have a few younger members here. (as young as 13 years old)

Your sister is right, I've stumbled across sites that were too mature for me, lol! For real though, there have been too many cases of pedophiles meeting youngsters over the internet. If I don't have the time or patience to supervise the grandkids on the computer I don't let them go on line.

she is too good of a kid to even do stuff like that though. one time i was watching her when she was 10 or 11. i was allowed to watch SNL when i was little (most of the jokes were over my head anyways) so I asked her if she wanted to watch it and she said "I cant! Its PG 13!!!" and i said "madison....youre not going to die from it. its not like your 4. come on" and she just kept saying "my mommy said i cant watch PG 13 stuff aunt jessi!!!!" lol. now me....i would have been like "hell yes!"

ha, ha, ha, it is PG 13 I mean and not GP. Duh - sorry about that everyone. Maybe I am somewhat dyslexic! Good grief.

I think DH stands for "Dear Husband" - at least that is what I've seen it used for on other boards.
