Nope. But my greatgrandmother used to know a curse to get rid of warts. ;)

Sorry to hear you're shedding.. I don't know of anything to help you out. Just a good vacuum and a pet hair roller. Does wonders :p

Yes, I am like mad! It's crazy...I have really long hair, and it's EVERYWHERE.
I usually cut my hair when it starts coming out in mass, that's when it's time for a haircut. Well, I recently cut it...and Charles is complaining that I can't wear my hair down because it gets everywhere! :) What a sweetheart, I know. :) So, didn't know if any of you ladies know of anything that'd help?!

I wish I did, I have a small bald spot now! I tried the vitamins that claim to make your hair grow thicker, no change after 6 months. They say that stress is one cause. Well good, but losing my hair is adding to my stress!

Tiffers, I know that hormonal changes will cause exactly that to happen.
Your not pregnant, are you? Even a change in birth control strength can cause this. It is temporary if hormonal surges are the cause.

Ha! Good heaven's no. You have to be 'exposed' first. :) And I can't take birth control, I'm allergic to it.
My hair grows like a weed...and it's incredibly thick. That's not the problem...it just falls out.

So all this could be because I'm in menopause? Cool! The other time I went through this, 20 years ago, it turned out I had malignant cervical cancer, and I've been tripping, since this time I don't have medical insurance and being employed make too much money (currently $155.00 a week) for Medicaid.

Tiffers, when I was young I used to have hair down to my butt. It came out in huge masses too. My buddy used to call it toe floss cause when he was at out apartment without socks he'd get my hairs all tangled in his feet! :D
Anyway...my hair isn't near that long anymore, but when it needs cut it comes out more. Just because of the way I eat now, I have added 2 tsp of olive oil to my daily diet and it seems to have helped with the shedding
I had to laugh when I read your question. My husband is convinced that too much testosterone leads to hair loss..........

...good heaven's. You guys crack me up! :D
Anything with the word 'olive' in it totally grosses me out! ...what vitamin is olive oil? Or...is it even a vitamin deficiency?
ferJenna
10-07-2007, 07:32 PM
I don't think it's a deficiency.. It's just an oil that apparently helps out? Olive oil is used for cooking, and it's great. I use it with pretty much everything I cook.. Yummm :)

Try Omega-3 suppliments (fish oil). I think they are wonderful for so many things...I take two every day (2400 mg)...my hair is shiny, my nails are strong, my skin is soft, it's good for the heart & cholestrol control, ...people think I'm ten years younger than I am which is a good thing because my BF is ten years younger than I am! ;)

...well, my nails are hard as rocks...I have to get a chainsaw out to trim them, my hair is crazy thick and shiny...if I start adding stuff in to make all of them stronger I'm going to be in deep doodoo...and well, that's kind of gross. :)

...and I guess if you looked ten years younger, you and Charles would be pulled over a lot.
But, give it time... hehehe.:D

...it's funny now, but it sure wasn't when I was standing there...I had just felt brave enough to go out in public with make-up, too. She ruined it for me... :)
It's now many many years later...and I hardly ever wear it. If I look 12, I look 12. Charles doesn't care...why bother!?
ferJenna
10-07-2007, 11:40 PM
Exactly! I don't ever wear it either, but partially because I'm stinkin' lazy these days. I've never really been one to care what other people think anyways, so it makes it a lot easier :)

I get ID'd all the time, 'cos I look 14. Especially when I have pink n purple hair. Sucks. But at least when everyone else is old and wrinkly, I'll still look young :p

Until my mid 30's I was still getting carded. It annoyed me in my 20's, but now that I'm 50 it's paying off.:D

You know, it's really not fair, Tiffers got the nails, and the hair and the lips, and I want to know why didn't I? LOL Seriously tho, her hair IS freakin long and thick. Was easy to keep when she was little, just brush it and go, but she always wanted me to curl it! So, of course, it doesn't hold a curl!

Tiffers, I have four dogs, three cats and several small furries, and when I vaccuum the most hair I pick up is my own! I've also got thick hair and it falls out like nobody's business, especially after a shower-constant clogged drains!
I don't know what helps-when you find something let me know!

Oh man, the hair in the shower...seriously, I can't touch it. It's my hair of course, but something about wet hair...ugh, gives me the heebeejeebees.

Lol that's cute. I'm trying to grow my hair out again. It's been super short since high school and I miss having long hair. I don't miss the clogged drains, but then again pomade does it too. Ick!

You all crack me up!!! LOL Well I have super fine hair that is straight as a ruler. In my opinion my hair is very thin, my hairdresser insists that it seems think because it is so fine, whatever you call it to me it is very thin. I have been shedding since being a teenager and I remember worrying that I was going to go bald. Well 30 years or so later I am not bald and still shedding - I just don't worry about it anymore. Too many other things on my mind. LOL

my hair clogged up our bathtub drain so bad that it would take half an hour for the tub to drain at our old apt lol. i have really thick curly hair that looks like i just put a mop on my head. so i dont notice the shedding because i have like 30 lbs of hair anyways. the drain notices it. but i dont. i used to shed a lot though. when i shower i shampoo and rinse immediately and then put conditioner on. i leave the conditioner on the rest of the shower. while i wash my face, shave etc... its like a deep condition everyday. it has really helped the condition of my hair. i can dye it, fry it, put gel in it, straighten it anything and its still healthy as can be. try that.

LOL...I'm the same way...I have to make hubby clean out the drain in the tub and if I even see it I start gagging and it's my own hair!
