...so, I'm wondering what you all see in Chica. I know that her parents are a pure bred pit and a beagle mix...but I'm curious what everyone else thinks. Oh, and feel free to post your own muttlies so everyone can input on your dog, too.

You know Tiffers, if you hadn't stated the breeds, I'd never have guessed either one!

Now that I am looking for them in her, I do see the beagle in her eyes, some of the pit in her face, especially the crown of her head. Her body............is hers alone.

But she is sure a cutie.......no matter what breeds she's made of.

LOL!

...poor thing. She looks like a tick when she's overweight. :) Perhaps I should take out what her parents were for everyone else...?

You know, I wouldn't have guessed the Beagle. I've never seen that in her before. But I could def tell in the last pic and some of the others that you've posted that she could have a little Pit in her. I've always thought she was a small Lab mix!

This is April, whom I've always called a Lab mix.. But I think she has a little GSD in her too.. What do you think?

I had to take this pic because I realized that she always sits for her pictures, I don't have any of her standing! Haha, and Mama was getting bored in the background... :D

Just to let you all know.. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but on 3 of her paws, her toes are white and a few hairs on the very tip of her tail are white too. The rest of her whiteness is her aging.

Well, I never thought her daddy was a pure anything, he was a pit mix as far as I could tell. But her momma was a beagle/rat terrier mix. And no, Chica doesn't look anything like her momma. My Daisy was the prettiest beagle you've ever seen, with a tail that made a complete curl up over her back. I've always thought beagles should have curly tails!

No, he was. He belonged to those jerks that had that pure bred Boston, the one's that broke into our house?

Jenna, April definitely has some GSD in her, especially in that tail!

Here is my Windy. We got her at a German Shepherd rescue. They thought she was mixed with black lab. But we did some research and determined she's mixed with Whippet. Look at the nose! Too skinny for a lab. And she is FAST! Just caught a squirrel the other day and used to catch mice!

She does have that greyhound/whippet face. :) German Shep. though? I don't see that one.

I can see the Shepherd in Windy, I would say definitely Greyhound too, since she looks like a bigger. Whippets are much smaller. Unless it's just the picture. :) Maybe even some Borzoi? They're not very common though.

Nah, I take the Borzoi back :p

ferJenna, I definetly think April has some GSD in her, my Sega is half lab half GSD, and they look very similar. Does she ever hold her ears up? Sega does when he chasing a squirrel or concetrating real hard on getting something, any other time there are the half up, half down "wings" as we refer to them. I will post some pics shortly. He also has a few random white hair on his toes, and a few in his tail.

I would have guessed a lab mix for Chica.
April...I'm not sure. I can definately see the lab in her. It looks like Mama is laughing at her! lol
Windy, I can definately see the Sheperd in her. Not sure if the other would be the greyhound or whippet.

She'll do the whole at attention thing, but her ears never stand up. She definitely has the lab ears :)

Chica looks a LOT like my dog Penny –– except black instead of brown.

I've always labeled Penny as a beagle/pit mix, so I think your breed description on Chica's pretty accurate! :)

I think Chica looks like an overgrown chihuahua, especially in that second picture.....but that's clearly impossible so umm yeah disregard my comment....but just know, Tiffers, everytime I see your dog...that's what i'm thinking hehehee

 ...she would be appalled at your statement, especially since her daddy was pit! I won't tell her what you said... :)

You know what, that's actually pretty funny.. I did think she looked like a chihuahua the first time I saw pictures of her, until I saw how big she was. That's alright, she's still adorable! :D

That's so funny. Windy's ears are usually one up and one down. But when she is excited about something like chasing a squirrel or running around playing, both ears are up and she totally looks Shepherd.
