This is our baby Frankie. She came to us when she was 8 weeks old. A scrawny tiger stripe no bigger than the palm of your hand. Our daughter found her dumped in front of the store after she got off work. Our granddaughter(who was 2 at the time) named her. Frankie has led a less than glamerous life but she is tougher than nails. She fought anything that neared our yard with the pizazz of a Rottwieler. She lost part of the tip of her ear over one of those fights. She has been injured once by unknown means to us but it was bad enough it left her in a huge pet porter for months until she got feeling back in her legs. She recovered well and continued to rule the yard. Somehow she took a pellet shot to the hip (I think neighbor boy but could never prove it) and unfortunatly it severed a nerve and she lost all feeling in her left leg. So, an amputation was all we had an option for. That was in 2003. Frankie would never adhere to being a "house cat" she would sit at the back door and YOWL day and night until she was out. She is still that way. She has a nice warm house on our patio with plenty of food and water and that is how she is spending her retirement years. Stretched out on that concrete side walk sound asleep in the sun. You wonder why I say retired?? When we came in earlier she was laying in her usual spot and not 3ft away was the neighbors rabbit happily munching on the clover in the grass...... Frankie just looked the rabbit over, yawned, stretched and went back to sleep. So, Frankie's fur is not as bright as it once was, but to me, I still see that scrawny tabby cat!!! Happy retirement Frankie!!!!!:)
