From wikipedia -
"US graduates are awarded either a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or the less common Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree, the latter if they are a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine."

I don't think either is better than the other. Like with MD's and DM's.

Some universities like to use Latin on degrees. My sister-in-law's degree is written entirely in Latin (Princeton). I like to tell her that it's not real. ;)

you mean MD and DO? cause there is a difference in those. MD is purely medicinal. DOs usually have a better sense of relationship with the patient. Theyre taught more than just clinical stuff. Theyre taught the interpersonal part of being a doctor also.
Silly U of Penn trying to be special. Thats one of the schools I am applying to next summer for vet school.
