Hi, I'm new. I have a 14 year old burmese female. She just started to loose her fur on her back by her tail. Has anyone ever dealed with this before? I'm thinking I need to take her to the vet tomorrow. Thanks

Could be sooo many things. Are you taking her to the vet for hair loss or something else?

For the hair loss. Maybe I'm being silly, but I love this cat. I don't want to take any chances.

Well...a couple of options, could be diet...could be an allergy, could be ringworm. So many things have 'hair loss' as a symptom. :) Let us know what the vet says.

You're not being silly at all. by all means take her to the vet, I would have advised it anyway. While you're at it you might want to go ahead and have them do a senior blood panel on her, just to see where she's at, and as a baseline for the future.
I'll be watching for updates.

I took Brianna to the vet today. It was the soonest they could see her. Vet said her fur is being broken off from her cleaning it. I'm wondering if its stress. I had a sable female that she has been with for years. We just lost her a few months ago. But while she was there, the vet did a complete check up on her. He said she is very healthy for her age, but she has a bad tooth :( He gave me antibiotics for her. He also said I should think about having it pulled. My question is, is she too old to be put under? She is 14 and I'm afraid that she wouldn't come out of it. What do you guys think?

Fourteen is very old for a kitty, you've obviously been doing something right! :)
Cleaning up her teeth would prolong her life a year or so. However, any surgery is risky. Is her bloodwork and heart and everything okay? I'd suggest having your vet do some bloodwork before deciding on surgery.
