chania has woken up 2 days in a row vomiting....not much comes out just a bit of liquid but it's weird as her demeanor hasn't changed and she seems normal the entire time. She's going to the vet in a few hours to get her rabies shot do you think this is a bad idea??

I wouldn't worry about it. Mama does the same thing. I posted a thread about it on here thinking it was just odd. They do it because their stomach is empty. At least that's what Mama's problem is :) You should be fine with the rabies shot.

thanks for the reply....i looked it up online before i left the house and i came across what you said. it makes sense because for the past 2/3 days i haven't been able to feed her at her scheduled time in the morning i've been feeding her about an hour later. i feel terrible, but it's because she can hold her pee/poop longer so she doesn't wake me up as early anymore. except now she woke me up making vomiting noises...poor baby.
again thanks for answering. i'll set an alarm now.:)

Do you feed her more than once a day...small dogs often function better with the food split over two maybe more feedings. I do morning/night with my guys and it seems to make them really happy...no tummy troubles ;)

i was doing 3 small meals a day...but have been slowly feeding her less during the afternoon and more in the morning and at night so that i can keep her at 2 meals per day. but perhaps i'm feeding her too early at night. i feed her around 9pm and go to bed around 11 thinking the 2 hrs will give her enough time to eliminate before bed. but i guess from now on i'll have to just put an alarm clock so she can eat at the time she usually does in the morning around 7:30-8am.

I know the alarm clock routine well...mine is set for 2am and again at 5am to make sure Max gets his "bites" (to keep hypoglycemia at bay, he's on about every 3 hours)
