I just noticed a small spot of blood and poop in my kitchen floor, sort of like he sat down and it stuck there. I wanted to cry! I looked at his rear and there was what looked like dried poop on his fur but a small amount of blood on the hole. He seems fine in his activity but has let out some loud cries occassionally (this is not really that unusual) He has had bowel problems in the past, but he's been good lately.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

A bit more info would help...what kind of bowel problem did he have in the past? ... is his feces hard & thus hurts him to pass it producing blood from tiny tears? ...has it happened more than once? ...did he eat something that he shouldn't have?...
Since he had bowel problems in the past, perhaps your vet should check on him.

his previous problem came with a change of food, once he got used to it he was better. He might have eaten something, he likes to eat plastic, but I don't know for sure. I am going to keep a an eye on his poop for now because I don't have the money. hopefully I wont' have to take out a loan!

Well, let us know how he's doing. ;)

he seems to be ok today, although he had an -- accident on the mat near my front door. it didn't look like there was any blood in it. Whenever he's had what I'll call a constipation problem he has an accident by the door. I'm going to assume it was from constipation but still keep on eye on it.

what are you treating the constipation with? Chronic constipation can lead to megacolon which is very serious and requires surgery (in younger cats) or many expensive medicines,( in older cats)

If Junior is constipated a lot ask you vet abobut adding a few drops of mineral oil to his food once a day, or even every other day, once he is brought to regularity again.

if you ignore the problem it will get worse.

Yes do watch that very carefully. It could be just a minor problem or a major problem.

Not to scare you by any means, when my Alexa was diagnosed with Feline Corona Virus 2 years ago I first noticed blood here and there throughout my home. I found out the blood was from bloody stools and lack of control down there.

So if it continues take Junior to the vet. Good luck.
