...she's still there. Poor thing...crying, climbing, falling...I can't get to her.
She's been there for over 24 hours.

Chica is very upset and stressed that the kitty is crying, and Chica can't get to her to help. (I know how she feels...)

As the limbs break, she continually climbs higher and higher...

...this is a picture of her and then me on the ground. So you know how high she is...

If you can't find her in that picture, I've circled her in this one.

Even if I'm standing on that balcony that you can see...she's too far out of reach.

I'm sorry for the kitty, you and Chica! I wish we could think of something that would help. It doesn't even look like she would have a clear place to jump from that she wouldn't hit a bunch of branches on the way down (given you could even get her to jump into a blanket).
My SO just came up with an idea. Call whomever you have your internet service with and tell them you are having problems and need to have the connection at the pole checked. They would probably have a ladder long enough to reach her. When they get there, confiscate the ladder to get her down:) :D

i was watching some show on animal planet and a kitten was stuck in a drain pipe. all these guys were standing around drying to pull him out and they couldnt get him. the whole time im screaming at the t.v. "open a can of tuna damnit!" and finally a woman comes along, opens a can of tuna and she grabs him. lol.
also, have you seen that commercial with the cat stuck in the tree? there are firemen and everything and a woman comes by and opens up a can of tuna and the cat runs right to her.
im guessing you have already tried tuna though.

...she's got a nice little buffett out there. Tons of chairs, tables, and even some bookshelves. We're just waiting for her to jump...
My mother's SO has a really tall ladder, but it can't get here until Saturday.

wow tiffers that's really high up! good luck with getting her down.
i say you call the fire dept. anyway even if it takes them a day to get there at least you can always cancel them if she does come down some other way.

as a matter of fact 2 summers ago the fire dept. came to my neighborhood (in NYC!!!) when these guys spotted some chicks in a drain in the street.
so there were 2 firefighters in the middle of the street chasing these little under-nurished chicks....i was rubber-necking the whole time i was walking cuz it was such an interesting sight and then one of them "peeped" at me and he was right by my foot so i picked him up and took it to the firefighter only to learn that they can't take them so i had to.
and that's how i ended up fostering 2 baby chicks for about 2 weeks until my dad found a hen (in NYC!) that adopted them.

Wow your kitty is really high up there! Poor Chica looks like the forlorn mom not knowing how to help her baby. Well I hope she manages to get down soon.

.....was that on the planets funniest animals? cause there was a video of these ducks walking and as they walked over a drain they just kinda fell in. then they got them out and they fell in another one. and there was some guy on there chasing them and they said that he took 2 chicks.

no these were baby chickens....and sadly it wasn't really a funny sight...i just found it funny that there were 2 firefighters out in NYC with the truck and all trying to get these baby chicks. there were 4 of them total but one of them was already dead and the other one was dying and basically died there with us. So i had to take the other two and i was crying on the phone because the wildlife people wouldn't help me and neither would the spca because they are farm animals. so i had to keep them and for the first few days i was freaking out because i though they were choking on something and that's when i found out about birds having crops and all that jazz. ....they grew pretty fast in the first few days.

Oh that's so sad! I hope she comes down soon. So the racoons chased her up the tree? Hopefully she will come down when she is hungry enough. Have you seen the racoons again since that one night? I'm worried that if she keeps seeing them she may never come down! She's not hurt is she? We once had a stray we were feeding outside run up a tree because it was injured...probably from an encounter with a racoon or fox like yours had.

Did she come down or what!! Im sure she has, its been awhile since that last post. Our cats are indoor cats, but I know the second we let them out they would prob fly up a tree. My wife puts them out on a harness. lol. Its funny but they love it.

So the racoons chased her up the tree?
We're thinking so...it used to be at least two or three nights a week...she'd end up in a tree because of the raccoons.
Hopefully she will come down when she is hungry enough. Have you seen the racoons again since that one night?
She's been up there since Tuesday Morning (when I thought back about it...she's been up there for nearly 3 days, not just two.) She's starving...she does her darndest to get down when we set food out, but she can't.
She's not hurt is she?
Don't know, but I'm pretty sure her feet are torn up. The other cat has a large chunk of meat missing from it's butt, I'm hoping she didn't get bit before she got up the tree.
UPDATE
She is still in the three. Went to the fire dept...they wouldn't help because of 'liability' issue...the jerks. Called the animal control and SPCA and none of them are either open, or know of anyone who can help. So, borrowed a ladder from one of the doctor's and am waiting for Charles to get home to use is crazy long arms to get to her...the ladder, still on the second floor is not high enough to reach her.

BTW it's a pear tree, not a tangerine tree. The tangerines are in the front yard and they are only 3 feet tall! LOL But so happy that Charles saved our Light Kitty.:D

Oooops, I must have missed that there was another page to this thread and didn't realize that your kitty is saved! Congrats and thanks Charles for saving this poor, hungry kitty.
