question about a pencil and my puppy

Our puppy just turned 6 months old - she weighs about 40 lbs and has just eaten a lead pencil. It was the large pre-k type. I found some of the wood, some lead and the metal end with the eraser. I am concerned about the effects the lead might cause. Any ideas?:confused:

Our rottie did the same so we called the vet right away. She was ok but don't take the chance and call your vet.

the lead of a pencil isn't actually lead. it's a mixture of graphite and clay. perfectly harmless, biggest worry would be the wood splinters.

As the last poster said, the biggest problem would be splinters - if she is throwing up any blood or there is any blood in her stool - she will need to see a vet ASAP
