We just got a new shock collar and have only had to use it 3 times today.
I am so proud of our little Duckie. He gets that when the warning sounds he better stop doing the no-no, or else he will get shocked. I didn't expect him to learn so fast!
I know quiet a few of you are going to be unhappy with us, but it was our last resort, and it WORKS!
You all have no idea how difficult Duckie has been.
Allow to explain: He has tore up 2 $200 down comforters, 1 set of shoe laces, 2 box springs ( 1 cover and the bottom of the other), he eats his own poop and even brings it in the house, he stopped peeing in the floor and now has started it up again, he's a biter and a barker.
I know all of these things come with puppy hood, but I have never had so much trouble with a puppy in my life! I am sure a few of you have read my other post, and will know we even thought of just giving him away, however Frank and I decided we just couldn't part with our adorable terrier/chihuahua, Duckie. So we decided to resort to another solution.

Just thought I'd let everyone know how Duckie is doing, I'll let you know how the collar training is doing in about a week or so.

Please let me know how the collar works after some time with it. I have been trying to encourage my mom to use one for her Golden Retriever. My kids have nicknamed him "THE BEAST" because he is so awful. He chews on you, jumps on you, pees on the floor, etc. He is very big and my mom is a tiny little thing. I am so afraid that he is going to knock her over (my mom is 60). He is 120 lbs! I worry that she is going to get hurt. She refuses to even listen to me. I would like to know if it really works. I know Edger Winston could be a really good dog, but he is in desperate need of something and we don't know what.

Yeah, I am so glad we both changed our minds.
I'll let you know in about a week how Duckie is doing with the collar.
Good Luck with Edger Winston, give him my lovins!

Thank you for your post and support

I don't think horrible of you at all. Sometimes, that's all there is to do. I'm glad though, that it was your last resort, and that you tried many other things before using it. :)

I don't think your horrible either. An e-collar used correctly is just another training tool. Good luck with Duckie. I also am glad your taking a positive attitude on keeping him, and working out his problems.
