We just brought home a new yellow lab puppy. We currently have a 2 year old black lab mix. She has been potty trained and has never gone to the bathroom inside. The last two mornings the 2 year old dog has been going to the bathroom in the house. The first morning the poop looked normal, but this morning there was a little blood in it. I dont think the blood is normal, but is her going to the bathroom because of the new puppy normal? Is it the stress of the new puppy that is making her do this, or do you think she is sick because of the small amount of blood?
Within the last two weeks we gradually switched her food and she is now completed on her new food, and has been for the last 4 or 5 days. Could this be causing the blood in her poop? Please help we are worried about our dog!!

I too have a dog that is still a little young himself. We got a new puppy and he started pooping in the house. He even pooped on the back of our couch once. This was all stuff he had never done before. I would call the vet about the blood but I am sure it is the stress of a new puppy. You need to spend time with both together and then both alone. Let them both know you love them equally. That's was the advice I received from people on here and it worked great. he has started to accept the new puppy and everything is back to normal.

Yes I agree with Nene,

You should call your vet just to be safe.
