Derrick a stray who adopted us a year and a half ago must have heard the story about Goldilocks.
One Saturday morning this past winter I got up at my usual time 6 a.m. Derrick who spends the night outside was at the patio door waiting patiently to come in. I let him in and sat down to watch the news and drink my coffee.
Later in the morning I began making the rounds cleaning up - this included the two and a half baths in the house. I started with the down stairs bathroom. Walking in I saw dirty paw prints around the toilet bowl - Derrick had been drinking water out of the bowl, something he likes to do even though he gets a bowl of fresh water every day. I cleaned the toilet and the muddy prints and made my way upstairs to the next bathroom. Lo and behold, more muddy paw prints around that bowl. I couldn't figure out how his feet could retain so much mud after walking up carpeted stairs. In the main bathroom ;guess what? MORE dirty paw prints around that bowl as well. Derrick will do this from time to time, go from one bathroom to the next to drink water out of each toilet.
