This is for you guys with gloomy weather... it was a gorgeous day today here.. in the low 70's and sun shined through big, white fluffy clouds. We took the birds outside, gave them baths and scrubbed their cages.... I couldn't resist taking these pics!

Beautiful pictures once again Jan! I'm so jealous of the warm weather you guys have ... all we have right now is snow, and more snow, and some more snow. I can't wait for summer! Your babies look like their enjoying the sun ... lucky them!:)

That's so cool, it's still in the 40°s here but it feels oh-so good compared to 2 weeks ago 1-10° weather. I can't wait til I can take the babies outside and get them some fresh air again! I'm getting a sun-lamp type thing soon so they won't be so deprived in the winter.

Beautiful pictures! They look like they're really enjoying themselves. I'm always so happy when it's warm enough outside to take the fids out because they love it. I do have a dilemma though, and that is Kirby. If I take him outside he has to be in a cage since his wings aren't clipped and he won't wear a flight suit. Do you think I should clip his wings at least for the summer? I really don't want to, but then again I want to be able to take him outdoors.

Jan, as usual great pictures! You have such beautiful birds and they look as if they pose for the camera for you. It is great you had a warm day to take them out.

Jenny - sorry I can't remember if Kirby is your plucker....... I think if I remember right Mortie is the plucker who wears the sweater. I myself have not clipped our birds' wings due to fact it is too cold to take them out. Angel plucks the wings like crazy when they are clipped - so I have been allowing her to go unclipped. It seems to have helped in the under area of her wings. My suggestion might be to make a "sweater" for Kirby. It may be easier to get on then a flight suit and Kirby might allow it because Mortie is wearing one. Then I would attach the lead to the sweater and you have a kind of imatation flight suit which he may wear. Let me know if this works! Good Luck.

Thanks for the ideas Diane. And yep, you got it right, Mortie's the sweater-wearing plucker. I've been thinking of letting him grow his flight feathers out to see if it'll help the plucking...might give it a try! I don't think I want to make Kirby a sweater because he might get overheated and also woudln't be able to preen. Plus, he'd hate me for a few days! But I do want to attatch a leash-type thing to Mortie's sweater esp. if I let him grow out his feathers.
