The FDA's website has the current list. Also Menu Foods has a list of their recalled products...www.menufoods.com/recall.

There area allot of pet food products around, sure!
Yet, I think it is going beyond the food you can just buy from the supermarket and pet store.
Knowledge is a great thing, and when it comes to your pets eating habits, you know what to look out for.
Have a look at this link: http://www.pets-of-the-realm.com/pets-pantry.html this page will give you a good down view on what to look for to keep you pet in top condition. Most brand foods contain about 70% bran in the meat tins to fill your dog or cat up, so that equals to: not much meat.
Anyway, have a look at what foods on the page your pet will be the better off eating. And if you have left-overs from your own dinner, use those with just biscuits when you can, even pour in some warm water and mix with the left-overs and biscuits to form a gravy.
Natural is always better, if you can get it. And also look at getting some specialized biscuits from your vet, to keep their teeth clean and which has vitamins in it. The bulk of the food may seem expensive, yet when you add all the odds and sods up of buying food over the time your bulk biscuit buy. You will find it is not that much different.

yes, but wolves eat the entire animal, as you say. And wolves eat animals that DO eat corn and other vegetables. So they are still getting their veggies. Not only that a wolf in the wild has very different nutritional needs than a domestic house dog. Premium pet foods are designed to meet the nutritional needs of domesticated animals. There are many choices. Read the labels and decide whats best for you and your pets.
Sorry that you are only now hearing about the pet food recall. Hope none of your pets have eaten any of the contaminated foods on the list. I'm surprised it wasn't addressed more in this forum.
I posted a link some time ago with up to date information but I don't think it was made a sticky, so has gone to the archives.

Sorry, this is from a long time ago...but, I wanted to add to Special's post.

...wolves are generally hungry...and whatever they come across. They eat...much like a dog. If there's a bag of trash or a dead animal or fruit that has fallen from a tree or some random vegetable growing in some random place...who cares, they eat it. It's food. Wolf or Dog...if it's dead or laying out in the open with no one claiming it...it gets eaten.
Also, you cannot solely feed your dog meat...you're asking for trouble.

Have you ever tried "LIFE"S ABUNDANCE? It is a wholistic Pet Food that contains no corn, wheat, gluten or soy which are hard to digest and is known to give allergies. Also doesn't have by-products (beaks, feet, heads, hooves, euthanized companion animals, ect) No chemical presevatives like BHA & BHT which promote liver cancer. No artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives.
They only use the freshest, human quality meat proteins. It is veterinarian formulated for optimum health.
The pet food manufacturers do not have your pets' best interest in mind. Current pet food regulations allow manufactures to use ingredients that you would never knowingly feed your pet.
My 3 cats' love it and the litter box doesn't have as much fecal matter after just a week of eating this food. It is really holistic!
Check them out at www.HolisticPetNutrition.Info
