You know how when you go to the doctor, the one for you...not your pet, and they knock on the door first? Well...working at a vet clinic, I didn't think I'd ever need to develop that habit.
Well, it was the first appointment of the day and B-Rad and I are deciding who should take the room. It turns out to be mine, so I head in to get m usual TPR, and what not. I open the door and close it behind me before realizing the client isn't wearing any pants!
I guess she could tell I was shocked, because she then proceeds to say "they had an accident" and that it was "okay". I kind of looked at her for a minute, and then down at my record and began to write. They were both older women, including the dog, and as I'm writing what they're saying about the dog, the woman strips off her shirt and puts an entirely new outfit on.
Once she's fully dressed, she tells me that they dog had pooped ALL OVER HER and she'd called her mother to bring her another change of clothes.
I suppose, this is where that habit of knocking first would come in handy. Holy cow...it was crazy, I NEVER in my entire career thought I'd see a client naked....
I can laugh about it now, but while I was in the room with the naked lady and her mother...I was well...a bit tense and shocked and confused all at the same time...
