I found A young dove...

I was sitting in my store and a bird ran into the window. My friend wanted to feed it, but when she went up to the little birdy he didn't move.. we put it in a box and called the environmental studies group. they closed before I got off work. so now I have a dove in a cage in my bathroom. I'm taking it in the morning to the envi. place. the lady said not to worry about feeding it, but I dont want it to starve. Can anyone tell me what they eat? :confused:

If it flew into the window, then it's old enough to go without food for a few hours. I'd just keep him safe and reduce as much stress as possible, i.e. covering the cage with a towel or keeping the lights out, etc.

Thanks for the good info. I took it to the environmental studies center. The lady looked at it and said it was pretty young but, could be let go. I let her take it and she let it go later that afternoon.
