So my mom went ahead and decided to get herself another golden retriever after buddy passed away. I should've expected that I would be doing EVERYTHING for her. My mom gets a dog that she wants, and throws the responsibility on me and my dad to take care of it. And I know good and well that the pup wont get much of my moms attention once shes bigger and they make her stay outside. Anyhow, shes a great pup though, I've been havin a lot of fun playing with her and Max and Maya werent too crazy about her at first, but I think Maya is acting like a parent towards her, she wouldn't let max get near her much, and she would keep the pup from going anywhere she shouldn't. Anyhow heres a pic of her with the huskies.
What a seriously CUTE puppy! What is her name?

Wow, I'm so sorry, I didn't know that Buddy had died, Husky06. :(
The new puppy is gorgeous! Hopefully with your help she will become so well socialized that your mom won't want to relegate her to the outdoors and will give her a chance to be a household companion. Unlike your huskies, who thrive on the great outdoors, Goldens thrive on trailing their human companions throughout the day, and by their natures, are very emotional needy. This is what attracts many people to Goldens -- they are people who enjoy being needed! :)
I truly hope this new pup gets a chance to prove herself as a take-me-with-you everyday companion. Bless your heart for giving her the time and attention she needs -- especially now! It's especially nice that your Max and Maya are welcoming her into the pack.
Please keep us posted on how her training is going! With the right time and socialization, maybe your mom will not be able to resist recognizing this gorgeous golden an important and cherished member of the family.
What an adorable pic!

oh I thought I had left that comment somewhere on this site about buddy once, but maybe i didnt, oh well, well some info on buddy, he was put to sleep, not this past saturday but the one before, the vet said he had cancer, not sure how to explain this but he had reddish looking clumps, that looked like skin, coming out of him, also he had quit eating from the saturday before the saturday we put him to sleep. Which is a week without food, and the vet seemed to think that his stomach was being eaten away, don't ask for all details, my dad took him to the vet, I wasn't there at the time, and of course he had arthuritis, sp? and who knows what else he had, but it was deffinately time for it. I mean I don't completely mind having a new pup here, but the fact that someone gets a dog for.....themselves......and throws the responsibility on me, thats just not right, but I'm trying to start working with her now, my dads not helping, once again he lets her bite him......which is where we got into it with Max when he was being aggressive......note: max still occasionally growls at my dad when he gets near his food.....max doesn't growl at any other one of us. But anyhow, I like her being a puppy right now, but I've pretty much always loved big dogs, so I'm looking forward to her getting bigger. By the way, my mom named her Lucy. And paws4prayer, your so right, shes a very outgoing people dog if you would say. Anyhow thanks you guys.

I am sorry you lost Buddy. I remember you asking about how to know when it was time and then hadn't heard anymore. Was hoping that your family took him to the vet and made a decision from there. Glad to hear that Buddy was given a humane death.
Your puppy is adorable. Even though you feel the responsibility is being dumped on you, goldens are wonderful dogs and as I know you realize it isn't the puppies fault your mom got her and left her training and care up to you. Just love her and care for her and you will be rewarded in kind. Good luck and much future happiness with Lucy.
