What nail clippers does everyone use? I need to get one for my cockatoo and haven't found anything decent for him.

I use human fingernail clippers for my budgies and lovebird, and for my conures I use these green-handled cat-claw scissors (don't know the brand...), because they were the only ones my mom could find! They work well, though, and I imagine that any cat clippers would be especially good for your rosie. Most bird catalogs and vet supply catalogs have good quality clippers in them, and they usually say what size bird they're for. Maybe try asking your vet what kind they have and where they got them.

I use small dog nail clippers for my Amazon. They are made by a company called Miller's Forge, but another good company is Four Paws.

I get mine done professionally done with small dog nail clippers, because there are no nail clippers of any kind that my birds do not recognize as nail clippers and run away from as fast as they can.

I have bird nail clippers. I bought them at a petstore. However I only trim my budgies nails. My pionus gets hers done at the vet's. She doesn't let me trim her wings either. Pumpkin does.

For my cockatiel and budgies I use a nail trimmer by SAFARI by Coastal.

It's good for small dogs, rabbits, small animals, BIRDS and cats.

Works great for my birds.

For my Pionus Parrot, I am getting a larger clipper.

Do you do the clipping yourself.

Jason: I clip my budgies nails, they're pretty easy to do and almost never bleed.

My tiel is another story. I do them myself but have to be extra careful because if I cut too short, they bleed a lot and takes time to stop with the "quick stop" or I use cornstarch.

I am nervous about doing Marcel's nails because they are so much bigger than the other birds......I am hoping Bonnie can help me (pretty please).
