Hello, I recently gave my cousin and her kids a baby puppy that my dog had. My dog only had one baby puppy and it was so large inside her that a c-section needed to be performed for the baby and my dog to survive, well after the baby came out, she literally died at birth and the vet and vet techs spent all their time reviving the baby back to life and performing CPF on her. After the danger was over, the mama dog wanted nothing to do with her so I began bottle feeding the baby which was an awful mess. But mama ended up taking care of her within the first 24 hours which is crucial according to the vet. (I think Mama dog wasn't feeling well after the C-section). We named her Miracle because we felt that is truly what she was. Anyways the baby made a full, healthy recovery and is as energetic as can be. She is now 5 months old and a little spitfire of energy. However for her vet checkup and shots, the vet said that she has a heart murmur but she may just outgrow it. Of course I panicked hearing that, should I be alarmed? Is this common? My cousin said she's not short of breath at all and is very active. Any advice? Or if anyone can just ease my worries that would be great. The breed is miniature pinscher/rat terrier, Oh and by the way the new family renamed her Lily, but kept her middle name as Miracle. thanks

Advise the new owners to get a cardiologist to look at the pup. Some murmors are out grown, some are actually even benign but others are quite serious. Testing will be able to tell what type and grade this lil on has

There are actually a LOT of puppies with heart murmurs. Most of them grow out, and some do not. Definately inform the new owners of this, and have their vet check the mumur every six months to watch for any changes.
