As I've said...I have 25 kitties, but they're all so different. One tries to open doors with her paws. She reaches up and touches the doorknob(luckily, she can't open it). Another one loves to eat chunks of food from her dish with her paw...then she plays with it.(I step on them a lot!) Two of them love to drink water out of the kitchen faucet and jusy clamor to get to the sink if I'm near it....begging for me to turn on the water! Another kitty "talks" to us and answers questions(with meows,of course). She likes to be on the bed to talk. Neffertiti enjoys bopping other kitties with her paw and biting them on the ear when she gets annoyed. She also likes to "talk" and play with pieces of raffia. She sounds like she's talking to kittens!:D Felix is my terrorist... he likes to chase other kitties and back them into a corner while they scream!! My little "Valentino" is a hugger and kisser!;) H loves to wrap his paws around my neck and kiss my face! Also loves to lay next to me at night. He grabs my arm when I try to get up!!
They're all a trip and keep me laughing!!!!

Oh my Cheryl......all 25 in the house???? Whew you must have a big house...lol....I love cats too but only have one. I also have birds. How do you tell them apart? Are they related or did they come from other areas. I think it's great that these babies have a loving home!!!! Just curious as to how you come about with so many....

Yeah...they're all inside cats( there's a street right outside), but it is a big house with lots of windows! I can tell them apart because they all look different( different faces, ect.)They're all related except one, which was abandoned outside and stuck in a tree as a kitten!!
Well... My guy and I moved into a house in the country 4 yrs ago.(with no kitties) The guy who lived there before us left a black female cat behind. We didn't let her in at first...but I felt sorry for her because she tried to keep coming inside!:( About a month after we moved in..she had kittens(three females). So I made a shelter for her and the kittens outside the front door and fed them.Well.....the next year, all four of them had 4 kittens apiece. We had no money to have them spayed and knew almost nothing about cats, either! Each closet of the house had kittens in them, which I helped deliver! We came to love each and every one of them( gave away a couple), and took care of them!
When it came time for us to move, our landlord told us to take all the kitties, or he'd shoot every one of them, so we did!!!!
When we moved onto a friend's house in the city, some of the girls were pregnant again, so once again we had closets of babies! A woman we met belonged on the board for the local SPCA, and volunteered to have everbody spayed and neutered!!We got that done,(thank goodness) So, we have Moma Kitty( the original) her girls...Calico Baby, Nefertiti, and Sweety-Pie!
The next gang was Muffin....Space Baby..Felix...Kusco...Honey-bun....Munchkin....Buttons...Then, there's Dottie...Bouncer..
Cuddles, Tootsie...Valentino...Rudy...Kocomoco...Corky...Ti psy-Doodle...Sparkler.....Big Guy...Fuzzy-Bear...Shadow...and Wheedler(the abandoned kitty) He just got neutered!(whew)
We had a couple of deaths...and lots of colds, liquid feedings, ect.But the love they give us is priceless!!!!!!;)

my goodness 25athome! i have one cat and she wears me out.

Talia is a 1 yr old black and white DSH a friend found while feeding our horses last december. shes only been domesticated 2 months. she has a few little quirks some i can seriously live without. she is obsessed with the toilet flushing, the basement, and whatever is under the couch. when i get home from work, she likes to meet me at the door and "tell" me about her day while i take off my shoes in the kitchen. she also turned out to be a 3 am nose licker. and she zips around the kitchen and jumps and slides across the floor on the rugs. let me tell you im really close to nailing the rugs to the floor. she even know the names of her 3 favorite toy. Red Mouse, FeatherBall and Gawky Kittie Tease! and she only been a pet cat for 2 months!!!! smart kittie

Askim, my 23 yr old horse, has a few little quirks of his own. he bows and shakes hands, he can open any gate latch (17 gate latches in 11 yrs. i just started letting him out into the yard- its better than looking for new latches) he has an insane penchant for birdseed!!!. and likes to fart and poop when you clean his hind feet.

i cant seem to remember life without them and altough some little quirks i can live without, i dont want to know a life without either critter.

Well, they wouldn't be them without those little quirks!;)
I usually let three into the bedroom at night(I rotate who comes in) And those early morning wake-ups seem to be natural for cats, don't they!:p

I have four cats. The oldest, Dixie, will be 20 years old in May. She likes to give head butts and love bites. Whenever she comes near she puts her head down and starts meowing. My son or I put our head down to her level and she butts heads with us several times in a row. She also likes to give little nips on the hand, arm or whatever she can reach. I've had her since she was six weeks old and she's only made me say "ouch" a few times. My biggest cat, Salem, thinks it's his job to keep everybody else clean. He grooms the other 3 cats as well as my 5 dogs. He also cleans the ferrets. He looks at my rats and birds and licks his lips, but I'm sure grooming isn't what's on his mind. ;)

25! I would love to have that many cats. Do they ever go outside or do they have litterboxes?!?!?!?! Right now I have 2 that are indoor and they have litterboxes and that is enough for me but I think when I move and I am not as close to a big road, I'll get lots of kitties.

None of my cats go outside where I live right now! In the warm weather, I have an enclosed screen porch where they like to go out and watch birds!! It's all inside with kitty litter boxes!!
Luckily I found a place that sell big bags of litter for only $2.00!
I usually buy three bags every couple of days or so. The boxes are mostly out of main areas of the house, too! If they get too dirty, some of my kitties begin pooping in the bathtub!!!!:p
Another one of my guys just started watching t.v.! He first noticed it when a commercial came on that had cats running across the screen! He ran up to it and watched every move for about an hour after that!!! Sometimes he gets totally entranced by the t.v. screen and won't pay any attention to us until he's done watching!!!
Also, sometimes I swear my kitties know what we're saying!!!
I'll say things like"Go jump on Roy", and one will!!! Before we moved from the country, one cat was pregnant and my guy got kind of upset(Oh,no...not more kittens!) and she was sitting not far away! One day we came home just at dark, and she came running from the side of the house! Her rear end was wet and I brought her into the house, knowing she was about to have her kittens! She had 4 kittens, but kept moving everytime they crawled to nurse her! Then an hour later, I went outside for something, and heard mewing sounds. She had two others right in the grass and just left them there!!! I took them inside, but they were pretty cold out there! She wouldn't stay still for any of them to nurse, even if I put one up against her! When I checked on and off, she had lain down on one and killed it! The two from outside died; then another died and finally the last one, too!
I tried bottle feeding the last one, but it didn't have any strength to even try!!!! So, be careful what you say in front of your kitties!!!!:(

I have 2 kitties Katy and Spirit.....

Katy will chew chunks of wood from the door frame if you don't get up and let her in/out if she's pawing on the door.....she sleeps with me at night and sometimes if I'm still sleeping and she's ready to get out of my room she'll lightly touch her paw to my face till I wake up.....Spirit, she's all black, will paw at the door at night and when you open it she'll run away, kinda like ding dong ditch,Lol....

Quirks??? Did someone mention Buster... He thinks he is a dog...as I type he is lying at my feet. He wakes me up 5 minutes before my alarm goes off every weekday, but not on the weekends! He talks only when he has something to say, he paws my face and stretches his giant long legs out over my book or whatever else I am doing, he has to have us watch him eat or he won't, he wakes my daughter up to feed him everyday by meowing in her face on her bed, he has to drink out of the bathtub faucet and the water fountain in my room...never a bowl!! He only lays on MY side of the bed, yeah....he has a few QUIRKS! What would I do without him???? I love that hairybeast! The sweetest, most gentle 15 pound cat on the planet!

I have two cats, Gracie and Casey. Gracie likes to drink out of the bathroom faucet and her favorite place to rest is the bathroom window. Casey likes for me to put water in the bathtub so he can play in it, and he has several little "caves" all over the house. :)

I have two cats, J.P Scratches (J.P), and Mya. J.P liked watching t.v untill one day we were watching a movie, I don't rember what it was but there was a pig that was black and white like him and these kids were running around and chasing it, and pulling on its tail so the pig was squealing. He was traumatized, I never saw him watching t.v again. If I don't feed them at the right time Mya jumps on your lap and puts her head against yours and stares at you till you do it. She also tries to lure him away from something of hers by running around with one of his toys.

This one time I had candles lit in my house and Sasha put her tail in it, neither one of us knowing till I smelled burning hair and I see my cat walking around her tail on fire and she didn't even know it herself!! She's just walking the house all proud tail in flames! I ran and put it out, luckily she didn't get hurt at all, she didn't feel it but she had a hairless tail till the hair grew back. She has done this on more than one occasion so needless to say, I don't burn candles anymore, lol.
Sasha also only drinks from a fauset and won't drink from a water bowl. I have to keep the sink running a lil just for her. Sometimes she'll lay under the running water and it won't phase her a bit. :D

oh my gosh Cheryl...I hear you when you talk about how you accumulated 25 cats..that's exactly how I accumulated over 40 (I only keep 25 inside). I too am curious how the heck you tell them apart. I have 4 total black boys now all neutered and have NO idea who I'm talking to half the time...lol and now I look and have 7 identical grey tabbies...all boys.....help!!!!! lol

I want to know where she gets the big bag of liter for 2.00????
With my 40 cats I go through a 40# bag every 3 days. I mix in wet once a week.
What kind and where do you get your food? what kind of price do you pay per bag? I pay on average 6.99. Most of the time I give special kitty from Wal-Mart mixed with whatever other brand I have at the time.

let's see.....quirks. well lexy likes to sleep under the covers, so if there's a blanket left out or a bed unmade, we have to check for her before we sit down. i don't know how she stands that...it must be aweful hot under there.

onyx has quite a few quirks. he loves watching the toilet flush...if i can find a pic of it i'll post it. i can toss him over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes and he'll just chill like that for as long as i let him. he loves to play tag with me running back and forth through the house. he loves laying/sleeping in the bathtub. when he was small he had problems with his back that made him temporarily unable to run or jump, so now, even though he's all better, he doesn't jump on things even as high as the counter. he'll find alternative routes that allow smaller jumps. (i know he can do the bigger jumps though, because if it's a new obstacle like the counter at my mom's house, he's right up there) hmm...oh ya and when he wants me to love him up he come up to me and stretches against my leg and mews. i can hardly believe he can stretch up to my waist now....

fun stories guys. 25 cats would be fun, but i wouldn't want to be on littler duty ;)

You say where do you get cat litter for $2.00? I buy mine at Walmart. It's only 25 pounds for $1.97. It is the special kitty litter in the red bag.
I have three cats at the present time. At one time I had 21 cats. Had them all spayed and neutered. It wasn't easy, but I did it. Just had to do without something else for a while. I keep two boxes out on the deck(it is screened in), and I have to constantly scoop it . They don't want to use a dirty box any more than we would use an unflushed toilet.
I can't imagine life without them.

ROFLMBO, porceline god.lol. Good one.

Cozmo has to be pet while he eats, at least one pet then he will continue to eat, he will wait for me by the bathroom door in the morning to get done and kinda lead me to his food bowl as he gets this excited mew sound going. He love to play tag with me or Jake my rotty.

Fat Cat has a paper fetish, any time here hears you with a piece of paper, whether it be opening mail or reading the news paper, he comes out of nowhere and will try to rub on it or lay on it.

I have only 5 indoor kitties, Goobie, he is the oldest 9 years old, he is my "Ma Ma cat", he loves all the babies that come and go. He cleans them, and plays with them. And he is a self petting kitty, he rubs on everything and anything if you just say his name. (good way to clean off the counter) Bartox, he is about 6, I refer to him as my "Boa Kitty", I pick him up and he winds around my neck and just hangs there, as long as I let him. Ma Ma Cat, I think she is about 2, not sure exactly, but she just hates everyone. She shows no favoritisim, she hates us all the same. Satan, he loves my husband. Every morning, he goes in the bathroom with him, and sits on the counter until he turns the water on for him. After he is done with the water, he has to watch him brush his teeth. We have to make sure that we don't leave our tooth brushes uncovered, he will open his mouth and rub his teeth on the tooth brush. And he loves those plastic tooth picks. If you hold it in your hand, he will pick his teeth with it, and he will fetch them.
And last but by far from least, there is my George, actually it's Curious George. He is very special. I kind of took him from a man, he was about 10-12 weeks old when I found, and was very malnourished tipped the scales at a whopping 1.6 pounds. I took him home, fed him, took him to the vet, and he got his first night of good sleep, and he has been a holy terror ever since. He plays very very rough, I think it's just a phase that he is going through. He tries to be loving, he will jump in your lap and when you pet him he purrs, but when you go to give him the second rub, he attacks. He wakes up everyone in the house faithfully at 4 am every day, just because he is up, you should be too. And he can't sit still for more than 3 minutes at a time. I have raised alot of kittens, but I have never met one or had one like him. He does mock 90 from the time his eyes open and doesn't slow down until he literally falls down from exhaustion.

my kitten Eddie drinks soda and juice. (Yes, I admit it, I share! ;) )

And when my male Siamese Ted was with us and Sally was a kitten, he used to let her "nurse" on him. He was always so tolerant and he adored her!

Sneaks is nearly two years old now. He plays in the toilets. He drinks water from the kitchen and bedroom faucet. You can tell when he's angry because he'll start stampeding around the room. He plays outside about four hours a day [rain or shine]. He's just crazy. He loves being outside, but he's an indoor cat. He "takes care of his business" outside too.

Warning: Cats are strange individuals. :D
