Some of my cats are losing fur, from what I was told was a flea allergy(about 4 or 5 of them). Since I have 25 cats, what can I use that won't cost a fortune to help them? I tried flea spray many months ago, and ended up at the vets with slobbering kitties! Not fun! Any ideas?

If it was fleas you would see black *pepper* which is poop the fleas leave behind.
If no pepper, I would consider food or treat allergy. Maybe they got something they are not used to?
You can call me at Fancy Pets, it's in the book, we're neighbors!

Dear 25:
The onlly prducts that truly work (and are safe) for flea prevention are Frontline and Advantage. Pet store copy cats not only do not work, but many are potentially harmful, containing toxic chemicals called organophosphates.
With 25 cats, you should also have your house treated as well, as the infestation is probably significant.
Best of luck to you.

Thank, you! I checked with my vet, and he says I can buy the dog dosage, use a syringe to apply only 1/2 for a cat(on the syringe marking) and that each capsule for a dog will treat abou 6 cats!!
Still pretty expensive, though!! I've combed most of the cats and this time of year, there aren't as many fleas, just enough to bother the ones with the allergies!! Is there any natural herb I can give them orally or anything????? He says the treatment has to be continued for 3 months before the cycle is broken down!!!
Is there any place to get the Frontline any cheaper???
Thanks!

Try an online pet wholesaler -- obviously, you're going to have to buy bulk, so give it a try! I remember a company called UPCO used to sell bulk. Thing is, with some treatments, you have to show proof of being a veterinarian or licensing in order to purchase, depending on what kind of medicine it is.
Best of luck to you!
