At 19 days my mother and father cockatiel started pecking feathers out of the baby. He was bleeding so I had to take him out of the nest and hand feed him. He did real good for about 5 days, then his crop didn't go down. I called the vet and he said try adding applesauce to his food.
And if he wasn't better To bring him in the next day. So when I took him in he said there wasn't anything he could do for him. The mother laid and egg the day after I took him out. Now they have 6 eggs again. The last time 8, but only one hatched. I hope nothing happens this time. But I am going to have to do something, she just keeps laying eggs. joyce:(

I can see why that would be such a problem. Seperate them if you do not want any more babies. It may not stop her from laying eggs but they definatly would not be fertile. Hopefully she would quit and get some much needed rest! Keep us posted.....I want to add that I am very sorry that this question slipped through the cracks. It happens sometimes but it doesn't help the person in distress, so please accept my apology.
