I gave one of my cats (Baby) a shaving today because he was very matted. I had to tranq him because the poor thing is afraid of his own shadow and almost had a heart attack last time I tried to groom without it. Anyway, I have a total of three cats and they got along wonderfully before this, but after Baby woke up and started moving around a bit, one of my other cats (Nicky) hissed and poofed at him like he was a new cat.
Baby still has some of his fur so it's not like he lost his old scent and he's been groomed like this before and nothing happed, so I'm not sure what's going on. Do you suppose that Nicky is jealous because Baby got all of my attention today? Nicky is the pushy one who is usually on my lap or at least trying to get on my lap and Baby is, like I said, afraid of his own shadow and is never pushy like that. I hope this gets better. Maybe Nicky's just grumpy today!
P.S. I tried petting them both at the same time but Nicky grumped and growled the whole time
