hello all

I have a five month old puppy and I just want to be sure she knows who the "leader of the pack" truly is. Is there anything specfic I can do to be sure she knows I am the dominant being in our household. She is wonderful most of the time but then there are times where I feel she is not taking me seriously. Any advice would be appecitated.

Thank you

Nicole from Canada

Hi Nicole,

Consistency is the key in training any dog. Any time you let your guard down and let her get away with something, she will get the idea that she is calling the shots. For example,do not let her lay down in your path, make her move, do not go around her. Only use a few commands, avoid yelling, use treats to encourage her to dowhat you want. These are just a few quick tips...Good Luck!

Start obedience training, you will find it to be the biggest help

Read the thread about socializing and training a puppy :) it is a sticky post at the top of the training section
