I have a beautiful female Mollucan, we recently got her from a friend of mine, Nikki's history.... owner was married, got divorced, new man HATED Nikki.. Her owner gave her to us for a short while...we had to give her back (big legal issue) reluctantly turned her over... her owner moved 4 times in a year and ended up living with a friend who had a dog and cats.. NIKKI was STRESSED to say the least.... happy ending is that we now have Nikki Back... (in writting so she isn't going anywhere this time) Starting with the boyfriend after the divorce, she became a feather chewer!! (this has been a 5 year habit )We have had her for about a month and she is still chewing, not as bad but still chewing. Only wing and tail... Does anyone have suggestions.. she is loved gets lots of play time, and has plenty of toys. I am getting a new cage for her to give her alittle more room and a slightly new environment.

although my feathered charges are smaller, conures, and cockateils if you can order Nikki a few flight suits she will probably chew on the suits for a while and that will help some.

It's taken Twiggy 4 years to start growing in her feathers. Anyway, the other options are e-collar, and or anti depressants.

The anti depressants however at least in my opinion are the very last resort.

No matter Nikki's behavior, don't give up on her. She needs stability and a loving family.

Best of luck.

You can order flight suits through flightsuit quarters.
