There is four cats in our household. They are all protective over the yard and other such things that is expected.

Recently since my Female cat had her 2nd batch of kittens there has been this one male cat hanging around the house. Take the fact that the other male cats in our house is only 8 months they still try to run him off.

Last night I noticed a male cat lurking around and ofcoure when I open the front door the cats are always wanting outside. So they run for it and make it. There was after 10 minutes of them being outside that my Female cat was attacked and ther other male cats trying to help her get the other tom cat a way.

We hurried outside to get them all inside and I noticed my cat limping. It breaks my heart to see her in so much pain.

We took a closer look at her this morning and my husband saw that she was bit on her foot and the tom cat got her good. Shes of course meowing at me as she usually does when she doesn't understand what is going on. I know that a check up is needed just in case of rabies or anything of the sort.

My question is how should i treat her foot? would she get better within days? What should I do in general? Take her to the vet?

In general, you should have all of your cats spayed or neutered and keep them inside.

Until you can get to the vet on Monday clean the wound well. Unless you are going to wrap the foot I would not advise putting any kind of ointment on the injury, as cats will lick it off. Cat skin typically heals much faster than the tissue beneath, so it could look better to you but actually be infected.

the cat should go to the vet as soon as possible to have the wound shaved and cleaned to prevent abscess. My kitty just returned from the vet from having surgery on an abscess after he was attacked by another cat.

He is a neutered male and was sitting on our front porch when he was attacked by another cat. Cat bites lead to serious infection unless treated.

Yeah, no kitting ....

BTW, this sort of fighting and drama is bound to continue if you don't get your cats neutered/spayed .... I hope you have a lot of money laid aside for vet bills. A bite on the foot is nothing ...
