Budgie behavior

Hi, we have a pet-store budgie named Marty. Every night about 9:00 pm (sometimes right on the hour) he'll start sounding off, jumping around his cage making quite a racket. My son has to cover his ears it's so loud! I think he may want us all to go to bed. Any suggestions on this bevavior?
