View Full Version : Sneezing Cat
Hi
My eldest cat Bobo who is about 11 years old spent the whole day sneezing yesterday. No mucus, no fluids, he was just sneezing, and he kept rubbing his nose. I gave him some amoxicillin because I thought he was getting a kitty cold. Today he is fine. I was just wondering if it was the air refreshner that I sprayed or maybe dust. I was going to take him to the vet but he seems fine. Any opinions?

Bobo, Just might be allergic to the smell of the airfreshioner, or it was just to strong. We have one cat named Smokey who would sneeze alot, and when we stopped lightening a certain candle, he was fine. I had another cat who would breath heavy, for the longest time. We took him to the vet and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. When we stopped smoking in the house he was just fine. So it might be something in the air that got him. Just like it does for us. I know certain smell's of flower's or tree's really get me.

Well I finally figured out what was wrong with Bobo. He had a kitty cold, which he spread thoughout the whole household. I was going to take the cats to the vet but I was told that most of the time they can't really do to mich and to let them be for a few days and see how they do. Well sure enough Well they were right. In a few days they all started feeling better. Now they have just residual sneezing. For awhile I was going crazy. I have nine cats and everyday another cat came down with it. It was like a chain reaction. I have two more cats to go, so far they show no signs, but I have a feeling they will. I usuallly am the first person who runs to the vet but I have the flu myself (not from them). If they didn't do better, I would have bundled me and the cats up and taken them to the vet, but I think the crisis is over for now.
