My duck

Hi! My little Duck, Count Quackula, is acting very strangly. He's seven weeks old now, but I've raised him since he was only three days old, and he's very happy and loving.
The problem is that he has trouble standing up and balancing. He's very ungraceful except in water, and often stands with his body making an "A" with his shoulders back and thrust up into the air, and his neck hung so that his beak touches the ground. He can only hold this position for a few moments before he stumbles backwards. A few times he's even fallen flat on his side because he has such difficulty standing up- he steps on his own feet, and overbalances frequently.
We're taking him to a vet tomorrow (we have an appointment with an avian specialist) but I just desperatly need some reassurence now- mum is telling me that maybe he has a brain tumour or something and they'll put him down, and I'm really frightened because I love him so much, I've had him since he was a baby and he seems so happy and healthy except for this.
