soooo......my dad was painting well priming i guess its called. I was keeping my dog in my room but she escaped and ran into the sides of the walls.....so now I have a dog whos covered in oil paint....I gave her a bath but it wouldn't come out....does anyone have any suggestions about how I can get it out of her fur?
Without using harsh chemicals? Scissors and time are the only things that I know of.

Try using Dawn dish soap. HAS TO BE DAWN! It cuts oil and grease so it should wash it out. Be careful not to get it in your dogs eyes. You can get step by step grooming instructions on www.kookydog.com.
Let me know if the dish soap works! they use it on penguins in oil spills so that shouldtake out oil paint.

Please don't use dish soap on your pet. The pH is wrong and your dog's skin will be damaged. The scissor and time idea is the right answer.
It is used in oil soaked birds, but they are re-oiled with a safe product before release or they'd die since they would no longer repel water.

Well obviously you aren't gonna just soap em up and let it stand and not condition them afterward. I have been using a small amount of dawn dish soap on dogs that are dirtier than usual for years and I have never had a problem. The soap is gentle and doesn't leave a residue. Have you ever used it?

Human soap has the wrong pH for a dog. It shouldn't be used. Ask your Vet.

I actually got this info from my vet and numerous breeders.

Dawn would be OK to get paint off your dog. mynameislola is not wrong about it being the wrong pH, but as long as you just use to get the paint off, it's not going to harm your dog. Just make sure he doesn't ingest it.. horrible diarrhea!

Also some oils remove other oils. You can try rubbing the paint with veg. oil or min. oil. Jut make sure your dog doesn't ingest it. Then bath with some dawn to get the oil out.
