I let Katie out in the back yard and seconds later she was at the door wanting to come in. As soon as I let her in I noticed her foot was bleeing:( It took me quite some time to find the cute as there was a lot of blood. She cut her pad on the side. I stopped it with the styptic stuff and pressure. She keeps licking it though. Is there anything else I should do? She isn't even limping, though. She doesn't seem weak like she lost to much blood either, I was worried about that. I have NO idea what she cut it on!

After you check the yard pretty well, just keep an eye on the cut to make sure it doesn't get infected. Think about the fuss you'd make if you had a similar cut on your foot or finger. Not such a big deal, right? Maybe even no bandaid, right?
My dogs occasionally get cuts, from ice or whatever, and they hardly seem to notice. I just wipe the blood off the floor (thank goodness for wood floors!), and we all forget about it! :D

Thanks, I was just parinnoid b/c it did bleed for a while but it could have been from me playing with it to find the cut, oops! I'm just glad she is not limping so I'm sure she is fine.

Sorry to hear about Katie. These things unforunately happen and we sometimes don't have control over them. I would just keep my eye on the cut and keep it clean. Wash and put some antiseptic on it, bacetracin, etc.
I usually put a sock on if their in the house so it stays clean. Unforunately that's not something that they like to keep on. I know people on here have suggested wrapping it in duct tape, which I may try if I'm ever in that situation again.

Superglue can close small wounds. I have duct taped plastic cups over dog feet to protect bandages. The cups will mess up wood floors and are very loud.
