My cat is about 8 months old, and from time to time she just pukes up all her food she just ate, we don't keep a lot of food in her dish, but she doen't go without. She eats about a cup a day. I am feeding her science diet, kitten formula, its the hard kibbles. she has been doing very well lately, but tonight she hacked up in three different spots. Could it be just upset tummy? she doesn't seem to be sick. and is still very playful.

Also, we are using the clumping cat littler, any thoughts on that?

Thanks Chad

My vet has always told me that kittens only need to eat kitten food until they reach the age of six months, because they are very close to full grown size. As far as the puking consult your vet. Your kitty could also have hair balls. There are several hair ball remedies on the market. Consult your vet & see if they think its hairballs or something else. A healty, active 8 month old should not be puking at all. Good luck & please consult your vet.

It could be an allergy or sensitivity to some ingredients. Science Diet is not a very good food at all. Vets promote it because they sell it. Most vets aren't trained in nutrition. It is grain heavy and full of by-products... Try a healthier food.

What food would you suggest?

I agree with CatRescuer - when my kittens were young and up to being around a year old we had terrible problems with vomiting. Tried every test available with 2 different vets, plus loads of different remedies, all with no success. Tried a 3rd vet who said "Change the food." I was pretty upset as I had been paying a small fortune to buy what was supposed to be the best on the market. Within 3 days they had stopped vomitting and they have been OK ever since.
