Our cat adopted us about a year ago. Little is known about him but we fixed him and got shots. He has some acne on his chin. But this morning as we were cuddling like usual I noticed something hard underneath his fur. I parted it and found a hard red scaly bump. I immediately took him into the bathroom and applied hydrogen peroxide and it fissed up. I applied some antibacterial ointment. Here is my real question. What could it be?

I think you need to take him to the vet if it does not go away. Is he ever outside?

Don't use hydrogen peroxide. It could be fleas or ringworm. If you see black specks put a drop of water on some of them and if it turns dark red, it is fleas. A vet will have to see if it's ringworm. Sometimes ringworm will glow under blacklight but sometimes not.
For the acne, wash the area well and throw out all plastic/ceramic bowls and use glass or stainless steel.
