How about a forum for those of us who have recently lost a loved pet/companion. That's what I was looking for when I came to this website. Thanks in advance for considering this.

Even though there is not a section on this forum for greiving owners (yet!) please stay with us! Within the last few months there have been many of us who lost pets and understand your hurt. We are a great bunch who support each other even through human difficulties. I agree Mr. Petlover, we need a rainbow Bridge section!

I think we could use this type of forum also. That way people who are experiencing a loss at the same time period could comfort each other. Mr. Petlover --- How about it?

Diane and I have pm'd Mr. PetLover and he is afraid to put one here for fear of a troll hurting a grieving person's feelings. I have seen them on other forums but it doesn't look like we'll have one here. I guess all we can do is keep watch for a person whose pet passed and rally around them.

I do understand that, but trolls will hit a public forum no matter what.. thats what the delete button is for ;). Mr Petlover may want to consider adding moderators.. this site is definately growing and happening place!. There has been a post that needed to be deleted(and was) and one now that I feel should also be deleted. Its too bad about the grieving section... many people search for support in such sad times.
Thanks for trying guys!!! :)

I really like this idea, but it must be moderated

I was disappointed that Mr. Petlover was hesitant about it for that reason. If we start a thread on that topic or respond to someone who comes on talking that topic - a heckler could pop in on the thread also. So, I really fail to see the difference if the thread was under a forum for that topic.

I can't agree more dlaura. All somebody has to do is look in each forum and they can find "Lost my best friend", "My Retriever Died", etc and cause trouble. When I first came to this site, I knew what I was looking for and what I needed but couldn't find it. I almost exited the site but figured "what the heck, I'll just post something". Others who are grieving may just exit out of the site and not find the help they need. I was lucky because I tried, others may not. How many have just gone on to other sites or not bothered to search any farther. How many pet lovers are out there grieving alone because they couldn't find what they needed most...... a special forum at one of the most difficult times in their lives. I can understand Mr. Petlover's point of view but what he needs to realize is that this site is filled with the most caring and compassionate people I have ever "met". All of you helped me through a very difficult time. It would have been easier for me if there was a forum for grieving because searching each thread while you are in tears is very difficult. The number of people that respond immediately to somebody in need is amazing. There are more supportive people out there than trouble makers. Some of the names of the threads could easily bring out the trouble makers but if you look back at responses, 99% is all supportive and caring. I don't see how a special forum would be any different. Sorry I am long winded but I feel this is very important and that many more people could be helped and consoled during this difficult time if it was easier to find what we were looking for.

Here's an idea. What if we started a thread called grieving forum or something and asked everyone their opinion on whether or not we should have one. (I think most people will agree we should) and then pm the thread to Mr. PetLover. All he can do is say no but maybe if he reads how stongly some of us feel he will change his mind. What do you think? Or does someone else have an idea? We really need to stress how important that part of the forum is.

Sounds like you just want to take a vote on whether the members feel we need the forum or not. So, go ahead and start the thread and I'll certainly add my thoughts. Good Idea Sherry!

Ok I got it started. Someone else will have to send it when the time comes because I don't know how. Hopefully he won't kick me off for starting this thread. I'm sure we'll get a good response as this has been brought up many times before. Oh yeah, I even added a poll.

'too crazy - there wouldn't be any reason to kick you off. All you are doing is stating your opinion and making a reasonable request.
Mr. Petlover has the opportunity to reconsider and say yes or no. Simple as that.
