Hello all, today my cat seems to have come down with a bad case of diarrhea. I have an appointment with her vet in about an hour or so. This seems to have come out of nowhere. Earlier she threw up a little but I figured it had something to do with this diarrhea. It's odd but she feels warm to the touch... perhaps my imagination. Where does this sort of thing come from? I don't really think she got into anything here in the appartment. Her sister seems fine. Getting concerned....

After you go to the vet can you tell us what the vet says?

A little later after I had posted my first post my cat went into the bathroom and passed some blood in her urine so it got even more scarey for me.
The vet thoroughly examined my kitty for about 15 minutes. She was trying to feel her stomach and other organs but my cat is too chubby for her to get a good idea of what might be going on in the inside. The vet stated that we could xray Cali to see if she might have a blockage or something else. She also said that we could run some blood and urine work to search for another cause of her diarrhea and blood in the urine. In the end, after a lot of thought, the vet basically said that if this was her kitty she would give her some meds and see if it cleared up.... which it did. The vet said that if it didnt clear up by morning to bring her back in right away. She prescribed Bayrtil, Diarsanyl and Flagyl for infections and control of the diarrhea. Everything seems ok now.
The fact that she was eating and getting enough fluids seemed to be the key here. If she was dehydrated or not eating, it would have been an entirely different story. I have confidence in my vet. She is a very competent and caring person.

She seems to have overcome this; however, she is one of those cats that is just impossible to get a pill down. We have tried every method that I could find online. I've got the wounds to prove it. hehe.... So, tomorrow I shall be calling the vet back to see if we can get some liquid form or if an injection would be possible. She is a complete wildcat when it comes to pilling.
