my 18 y/o cat has really slowed down the past 3 days, and has been sneezing. Her lungs are clear, its all in her head, eyes started weeping this afternon. Do colds in cats exist, should I take her to the vet (can't really afford due to layoff),

Could possibly be dust.
Is your house dusty?????
My brother has a housecat that sneezes all the time he gets near one of my Cats!

Maybe your cat is allergic to something? Have you added some new scents around your house (potpouri, scented candles, cigarette smoke, etc) or if you wear perfume. Hope your cat gets better soon.

How often does she sneeze?
Is it near anything?
Has she sneezed like this before?
If this is something new and you are worried about her, I would take her to the vet. She is a very old cat.!
She is 18 y/o right?

At 18 years old I would be concerned about her. A bad respiratory infection could be devastating at her age!! Can you set up a payment plan with your vet?
Yes, sometimes indoor allergens can trigger sneezing, but with wheeping eyes, that would tell me its something more than allergies. Falling down while sneezing might be her age, or the severity of the infection.
Keep us posted!!

yes, she is really 18, I got her from a no-kill shelter back in 1987, they said she was a year old and got ditched because she was pregnant. so I waited til the kittens were old enough and took the adult mama cat (and housebroken) knowing the kittens would surely be adopted. that cat has lived in more states than most people I know, pennsylvania, texas, and now tenneessee. we have an appointment today at noon, let you know the verdict.

My cats had a cold when I got them and their eyes were constantly tearing. Took them to the vet and they are better now but they still sneeze. There is nothing wrong with them anymore although every now-and-then they give mea sneeze.
