Well i didnt know if this belongs in this section or not but i was wondering has anyone ever tried this stuff and if so does it do the bird any good or do they like the way it tastes?

Heres alittle about it..
Creamed Palm fruit & Red Palm oil..
* Delicious dietary supplement rich in antioxidants, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E
* Beneficial fatty acids and oils help beautify plumage
* Choose creamed Palm Fruit or 100% Red Palm Oil

In the wild, palm is a dietary staple, naturally rich in antioxidants, Vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene), and Vitamin E. Provides beneficial fatty acids and oils to help enhance plumage. May aid in breeding and reduce feather plucking, and is a great supplement to any bird's diet. Choose Creamed Palm Fruit (28 ounce jar) or 100% Red Palm Oil (16 ounce can).

Palm Fruit

Feeding instructions: Our veterinarians recommend that Palm Fruit be given as a treat 2 to 3 times per week. For small birds (budgies, etc.), give 1/8 teaspoon per feeding. For large birds (macaws, etc.) give 1 tablespoon per feeding. Depending upon your bird's preference, palm fruit may be served alone or mixed with other fruits and vegetables.

Ingredients: Palmnut pulp and water

Palm Fruit Oil

Feeding instructions: Our veterinarians recommend that Palm Oil be given as a treat 2 to 3 times per week. For small birds (budgies, etc.), give 1/8 teaspoon per feeding. For large birds (macaws, etc.) give 1 tablespoon per feeding. Depending upon your bird's preference, palm oil may be served alone or mixed with fruits and vegetables.

Ingredients: 100% African red palm oil.

Please note: Some settling and/or separation may occur during shipping/storage - this is normal.

No, I haven't tried it, -yet anyway. I'm always looking for new and interesting things for the fids though.

Thanks Cuda for the info. It looks good.

Cuda - where did you purchase these items. If it helps stop plucking - I would give it a try for Angel?

I've heard of it and would like to try it but so far haven't found any place to buy it. I thought about ordering some, but shipping costs so much. Anyway, I read an article on it awhile back and finally found it @ www.holisticbirds.com (a great website) but the easiest way to get to the article is to go to Google and type in "holistic birds red palm oil". Currently I add a little bit of flax seed oil to my birds' mash food though on an e-mail list some people think the red palm oil is better...but either way, neither is going to hurt in small quantities.

How would this help a feather plucker? I could see how it would make their plumage better but not stop the plucking. I'm willing to try anything too!!

The "Missing Link" is another good product to use as we have used it on horses, dogs and cats as well.. It works great in improving the over all heath of your pet and also great for skin and hair, i think fids would benifit from it greatly, especialy feather pluckers.. But what ever product we use it will always take from 3 weeks to few months to show a diffrence..
