I'm making fur coats for the winter for the little fur babies! If anyone is interested there $25.00 includes free shipping.
Coat snaps at neck line and velcros down the belly. Coat is lined and nice and warm!
Dont let your baby be cold this winter! Dress in style!

I wouldn't pay those prices either (no offense intended Lillies_Mom) but many people are willing to pay higher prices to buy something hand-made rather than something mass-produced in China. It costs more for an individual to buy the materials needed to make these items than it does for a large manufacturer. Lillies_Mom needs to recover those costs and also deserves to be compensated for the time and labor it takes to make her products.

you all have to understand that I pay $18.00 a yard for the material to make thoose beds, plus the fur, velcro and stuffing. I hand make this in my home, Everything I make is CUSTOM made to fit your baby, can petsmart do that? I dont even make min wage making items. I do it cause I enjoy it and it helps me be home with my kids.
I already have 4 orders for that coat, I have seen much higher prices else where on other sites, I think my prices are fair for the work I put in my items and the cost tht goes into them.
My dresses are double lined and double stitched, I bet what you buy at petsmart wont last as long as a dress I make.
Thanks for everyones support here, I'm just trying to do something I love and make my customers happy. Also I offer a Buy 5 dresses or Harness vest and the 6th one is free, does petsmart offer that? I dont think so.

Custom made items will, in most cases, carry a higher price. I don't think that price is unreasonable.
I've been looking at items to put on my website, with regards to pet clothing. Some of the hand made, better quality, custom dresses are listed at $40.00 and up. You won't find these at Petco.
I'm not sure how long it takes to make one of the dresses, but with the cost of materials I can't imagine she's making more than $7.00 or $8.00 an hour for her work.

A completed dress takes about 3 hours, I hand sew each snap on and there is 3 snaps, so thats 6 pieces. I have to cut out each pattern piece, and then make the dress. I iron it several times, then when I dress is completed I wrap it and mail it out.
I always stay in touch with my customers and let them know when It's done and when I mail it out.
2 days ago I had a order and had the dress mailed out the next day, my goal is to have happy returning customers!
Lehi, I did read your entire post :) I just want you all to know what all is involved, it's not all machine work, I do a lot of hand work.

I don't think the prices are bad for all the work and cost of supplies, those are really cute :) Good job. If my animals would ever allow me to put any coats on them I would get Shiloh one (although he'd look better in a different pattern lol, Willow wouldn't need one with her thick fur)
