Just 10 min. ago, I saw a bulge on Brinkley. The bulge is soft to touch and located on the area between his testicles (he's neutered) and the opening of pee.
I know that anything when something that appears different than normal anatomy, it is a medical issue. Has anybody else noticed similar bulge on their male dogs? Is it something that I discovered today & freaking out but is actually a normal thing in a male dog?
Please help me!! I am not sure if it an urgent matter to call the emergency vet or wait till morning  .

BrinklyBing, do you think it might be related to the issue of his straining to go to the bathroom (your other post) i.e., something similar to a hernia? How does he appear to you otherwise? I don't know if this is an emergency or not, but it seems to me that if you are feeling very frightened, you might take him to the vet clinic for your own peace of mind.

Try not to panic; is your regular vet offer on-call (phone) service after hours? If so, that's the first thing I would try...then take it from there. Sorry I can't be of more help. Keep positive thoughts, it could be something of no real consequence or a variation of "normal."

Please let us know how he's (and you are) doing.

I can't say for sure this is what it is.. but a male dog's penis has a "ball" at the end of it. You don't see it, but when he's erect and ready to mate, you would. You normally can see it/feel it right about the area that you are describing. I'm almost positive that's what it is. (If you want to know for sure) hold the skin that the penis is encased in, and and with your other hand push the bulge, or the penis towards his chest, if it moves, that's what it is. I'm sorry this is kind of graphic.. but i'm sure you have nothing to worry about. If you're still not sure, take him to the vet, and they can show you what i'm talking about :) Good luck!!

ferJenna,
I tried doing what you suggested. I am not sure about if I did it right, but I think whatever it is not serious. Brinkley & I are going to see the vet first thing in the morning.

paws4prayer,
Is it hernia..would be my first question to the vet tomorrow.

Thank you so much!!
All mysterious things keep happening with him. I was going out of mind thinking what could be wrong with him.

Really appreciate your help.

It can be scary when we don't know what's going on huh? My sister noticed the same thing on her dog and took him to the vet. She went home with a red face lol. Hopefully it's the same thing with your guy. :)
