im a pet of a 12 week old tonkinese (burmese/siamese) and i always leave a full dish of dry purina kitten food on the floor next to a dish of fresh water.
My roomate and his girlfriend juts got an 8 week old (larger than my tonk by at least 3 pounds) domestic.
One of the most dumbfounded felines ive ever encountered (matches the mates)
She want their cat to only eat 1 cup of organic dry kitten chow a day
So the other night she takes my kittens food bowl off the floor and puts it where neither of them can reach it (on the counter) and i get woken up by both cats at 3:30 in the morn (never getting back to sleep)having to be at work by 7am for a full 12 hour work day.
I thought they just wanted attention like most kittens but when i was leaving the house i found they had no food which really pissed me off.
I believe there is no reason to put and kittens on any sort of diet of one or two cups a day of food.
they are growing and should have all the food they want/need
Their kitten is very large is going to be a very large adult and should have all the food he wants unless hes really an overeater which he is not
My cat will never be as large and eats small bits at a time i dont see why she should go hungry
I complained about it and i got the response "stop whining like a little school girl"
i cant wait to move out in april
if you were in my shoes how would you feel?

That's just wrong. I would assume cats eat when they're hungry - DOUBT animals have gluttony. Tell them that a HEALTHY CAT needs to eat. One cup a day doesn't seem very nice. Probably buy some science-diet food or something like that, that has weight control? Maybe that'll change their mind that their cat won't be overweight. I mean the poor kitties are obviously hungry.

OR sneak some cat food in your room at night so if they're hungry the kitties can eat there.

Grrrrrrrrrr

Have you tried putting the kitties in seperate rooms for feeding? Or overnight with their own food bowls? If you keep your baby in your room at night with his food, and your room mate keeps their kitty in their room with it's food I don't think there should be a problem. And eventually they'll learn where their food is and not go for the other's

Of course what I'd do is tell your room mate not to be such a child and to look after her kitten properly!
