do degus and hamsters mix?

Hi can I put a hamster in a cage with 2 degus?

At first you scared me because I thought you were referring to tegus which are lizards, which would be fine if you wanted to get rid of your poor hamster. Then I realized, recalled, that a degu was another furry rodent-like creature. I don't think it's a good idea to put the little guys in the same cage. I wouldn't risk it for fear of territorial fighting.

What kind of hamster do you have? If it's one of those ultra-cute teddy bear ones, I think that anything else in the cage would be made instant mince meat.

I don't think so as the degus could kill the hamster. A good website for degus is degus.org It is very informative and helped me when we had them. They are alot of fun arent they? How long have you had them?

Thats Great! They are so much fun. They also are not nocturnal so you get to enjoy their antics alot during the day. But beware, they reproduce fast!!!:eek: Let us know when you get them.
