My yorkshire terrier, Joy, has a frequent vomit. She's about 9 years old and weighs about 4.5 lb. She's never been healthy healthy like her brother, but recently she's especially vomitting a lot. Sometimes the vomit would have human hair in it, or sometimes it'd be just yellow bile with lots of foam. she was on Reglan for about a week, and seemed to have gotten well but as soon as she was off it, she's vommited on and off. Don't know what the deal is. Oh.. and sometimes, she would urinate. And when she knows she'll throw up, she'll come to me and scracth me to hold her. And usually, she vomitts as I hold her. Anybody know what to make of this....

What time of day does this seem to happen? There can be several reasons (empty stomach or possible stomach problems).

You might want to get to a vet ASAP and get bloodwork done and possibly an ultrasound if the blood work doesn't reveal anything.

I don't want to scare you but vomiting bile can be a sympton of everything from nothing to a bite from a tick to cancer.

Has anything else changed? Loss of appetite or increased thirst or new flea medicine? These are all things the vet should ask.

Thank you rstowe. It happens ususally during the evening hours, and she drinks way more than her brother, to the point where her belly would just bulge out..
I guess I should just take her to a vet. The last time she was at the clinic for vomitting, they've just gave her Reglan and told me to put her on a rice and chicken diet while on the med.. which seemed to have relieved her vommitting for a while.. but, she's at it again.
Maybe, there need be some extensitve testings done on her. :( Anyhow Thanks..

Thank you. :o
Searching for pet health insurance. And am thinking about switching her food. Will take her to a vet once the insurance kicks in. she didn't vomit yesterday and today. :D
