I have a brother and sister cat, probably 7 months old now, and a younger kitten about 6 months old, when i first rescued them they were already litterbox trained, they had a few accidents here and there, but they were few and far between.
For some reason they have started going EVERYWHERE in the house, on the beds, on the couches, on the floor, on the rugs, on the blankets. My fiance says they have to go if they cant stop doing this, I am so hurt, and i am refusing to get rid of them, I dont know whats going on? The male cat is fixed and the other two are girls, but they are all doing it! Help me please?
thanks- camie

First thought, have them checked for bladder infection. Cats seem to be prone to them. When it hurts to pee, the cat tends to blame the box and try to find a better place.

Second, have they both been neutered? Marking territory is both male and female trait when they are maturing.

Let us know.

Definately get them checked for bladder problems, but it's kind of strange that they are all doing it. I worked at a vet clinic for several years and found that the strangest things could be linked to a cat who stops using the litter box. Here are some things to consider (besides making sure they are neutered). Do you have more than one litter box? Your cats are getting bigger and may need their own box. Have you changed their litter brand (my cat hates scented litter)? Have you recently moved the litter box?
Cats can be so sensitive to changes in their environment and many react to change in this way. Also, I would get a spray that neutralizes the odor and has a repellent effect so that they are less tempted to go back to the same spot.
Good luck!
