My 8 month old Pom's fur is looking dull lately. Could this be due to the hormones of a female. She is on raw food diet and I put salmon oil in her food every 3 days. I brush her everyday bath her every 2-3 weeks. Any advice? Thanks

The only advice I have is to not bathe her so often, most dogs only need a bath if they get dirty. If you bathe her to much you remove natural oils that she needs so her fur doesn't get dry. Why do you bathe her so often?

I don't bathe my dog until she starts to smell. LOL. :P

I agree with Jerica and Lisa. Unless we're showing I don't bath my newfies on a regular basis. I do groom them daily and they're coats always glisten. When they go swimming I dry them and spritz on some doggy spa spray. As long as I keep up with their coats they don't have odor.

I don't really know anything about the type of dog you have, but my siberian huskies fur was always dull at first, but it was soft somewhat if that makes sense. She eats purina puppy chow, and then i started giving her sardines (yeah sardines) every 2 or 3 days and her fur is very shiny and soft now. I don't know if that would have anything to do with the type of dog though.

it's a pom thing....they go through a stage called the puppy uglies around that age.

look under the shedding heading of the above link. it explains the stage that they are going through.

i hope this helps!
