It is an artificial sweetner relatively new to the United States. I am not sure what products it is in. It causes severe drop in blood sugar causing depression, loss of coordination, and seizures. Just a heads up. Got the info from ASPCA newsletter.
Wow. Thanks Pepsi. Shadow has a big sweettooth, and my husband is inclined to indulge. I try to always have some carob yogurt drops around for those emergencies, and I make her some sweet treats as well.
With this dog having so many food allergies I have had to avoid commercial treats. I was shocked when I saw how many of them had so much garbage in them. One more thing to look out for.
