My mom recently adopted an 8 month old lab/pit mix who was recently spayed. When my mom got her home she seemed to be leaking pee once in a while and she seems like she holds it for long periods of time. She lets her out often, but she doesn't always go. We know she can pee. When I bring my dogs over, she will pee when she sees them pee, but she almost seems to try to hold it for some reason otherwise. At first we thought maybe she was in heat or going into heat when she was spayed and she still had some stuff left to leak out, and my mom says it's kind of stickier than normal pee. We asked the vet about it the day after she got her and he said it might be from being in heat and if it didn't clear up on it's own to bring her in. My mom has had her a week today, and it stopped after the first day, but started up again today. This is also the first day my dogs haven't been over to visit since she's been home. My mom says she won't pee when she lets her out. She seems almost like she holds it until she is going to burst. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? Do you think it might be an infection? She acts otherwise healthy. She is going to go back to the vet. My mom is just worried she will leak forever.
