View Full Version : HELP! Neon Tetra's very pale!

My neon tetras are acting slow, and are very faded, i feed em tetra brand color enhancer and blood worms, wuts wrong with em? all the other fish are fine.

First Tetramin foods are not usually the best, too much cereal, food coloring and non aquatic protein sources. Spirulina Flake, Hikari, Omega, and Sanyu are all better staple diets. The Blood worms are fine, along with Brine shrimp.
As for the Tetras fading, I would suggest erythromycin, or maybe Pimafix for an organic treatment.

i dont think it is the food, sounds like poor water quality, possibly from stocking too much too fast.

change of water and watch out.

I agree that poor water quality/ disease are probably the main problems here, but but poor feeding can decrease disease resistance considerably and poor quality foods can decrease water water quality considerably do to incresed waste.
And from my experience Tetra Foods are by far the worst.
